Alan Sams brings over 35 years of experience in the construction plant sales industry, with a career built on deep product knowledge, long-term relationships, and trust.
Throughout his career, Alan has worked closely with leading manufacturers including Hitachi, Komatsu, Yanmar, Volvo, Bobcat, and XCMG, giving him a broad and practical understanding of machinery across multiple sectors.
He has also developed strong, lasting partnerships with some of the UK’s most respected plant hire and construction businesses, working alongside companies such as Lynch Plant, Mervyn Lambert Plant, Flannery Plant, Tru Plant, and FTH Plant.
Known for his honest, straightforward approach, Alan believes that trust and reliability are the foundations of long-term success. His focus has always been on delivering the right solutions for customers, backed by experience, integrity, and a genuine commitment to their business.
In 2026, Alan founded AMS Plant & Machinery Sales Ltd, bringing together decades of industry experience into a business built on relationships and practical solutions. Today, he continues to grow his customer base by working closely with clients to understand their needs and deliver the right equipment and technology for each application. AMS provides solutions across a wide range of assets — from telehandlers, excavators, and rollers, through to telematics, CCTV, and temporary traffic light systems — offering customers a single, trusted point of contact for both machinery and modern site technology.
